Development of 12 sets of chromosome segment substitution lines that enhance allele mining in Asian cultivated rice

چکیده
Many agronomic traits that are important in rice breeding controlled by multiple genes. The extensive time and effort devoted so far to identifying selecting such genes still not enough target practical Japan because of a lack suitable plant materials which efficiently detect validate beneficial alleles from diverse genetic resources. To facilitate the comprehensive analysis variation among Asian cultivated rice, we developed 12 sets chromosome segment substitution lines (CSSLs) with japonica background, 11 them same using donors representing diversity rice. Using these materials, overviewed chromosomal locations 1079 putative QTLs for seven their allelic distribution through linear regression analysis. CSSLs will allow effects highly homogeneous background be validated.

Identification of Chromosome Regions Affecting Leaf Area with Rice Chromosome Segment Substitution Lines
The aim of this study was to obtain the information for improvement in source ability via expansion of a flag leaf area in rice (Oryza sativa L.). We identified chromosome regions affecting a trait (CRATs) for leaf area and confirmed their effects with two sets of chromosome segment substitution lines developed from indica landraces Kasalath or Nona Bokra as a donor under japonica cultivar Kosh...
متن کاملDevelopment and Evaluation of Chromosome Segment Substitution Lines Carrying Overlapping Chromosome Segments of the Whole Wild Rice Genome
Common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) represents an important resource for rice improvement. Genetic populations provide the basis for a wide range of genetic and genomic studies. In particular, chromosome segment substitution lines (CSSLs) are most powerful tools for the detection and precise mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTLs). In this study, 146 CSSLs were produced; they were deriv...
متن کاملIdentification of quantitative trait loci for rice quality in a population of chromosome segment substitution lines.
The demand for high quality rice represents a major issue in rice production. The primary components of rice grain quality include appearance, eating, cooking, physico-chemical, milling and nutritional qualities. Most of these traits are complex and controlled by quantitative trait loci (QTLs), so the genetic characterization of these traits is more difficult than that of traits controlled by a...
متن کاملQTL mapping of grain length in rice (Oryza sativa L.) using chromosome segment substitution lines.
Chromosome segment substitution (CSS) lines have the potential for use in QTL fine mapping and map-based cloning. The standard t-test used in the idealized case that each CSS line has a single segment from the donor parent is not suitable for non-idealized CSS lines carrying several substituted segments from the donor parent. In this study, we present a likelihood ratio test based on stepwise r...
متن کاملExploitation of heterosis loci for yield and yield components in rice using chromosome segment substitution lines
We constructed 128 chromosome segment substitution lines (CSSLs), derived from a cross between indica rice (Oryza sativa L.) 9311 and japonica rice Nipponbare, to investigate the genetic mechanism of heterosis. Three photo-thermo-sensitive-genic male sterile lines (Guangzhan63-4s, 036s, and Lian99s) were selected to cross with each CSSL to produce testcross populations (TCs). Field experiments ...
